Notified Body for pressure equipment classification
The accreditation scope of the Body for pressure equipment classification comprises the classification and registering of pressure equipment.
The obligation of the owner/user of pressure equipment is to engage a Notified Body for classification. Through the classification procedure, the Notified Body shall define if the subject pressure equipment is classified as high or low risk equipment.
After the completion of classification activities, the Notified Body for classification PED Inspect submits a Classification Report to the owner/user.
If the pressure equipment is classified as low risk equipment, the periodic testing and inspection of this type of equipment is to be performed by the owner/user himself, or they can engage a Notified body for the pressure equipment inspection and testing.
If the pressure equipment is classified as high risk equipment, the Notified Body for classification registers the equipment data into the central register of pressure equipment of the Ministry for Energy and issues a Data Record Sheet to the owner/user of the equipment. The Data Record Sheet, among other recorded data, contains the precise data on the type of inspection and the time intervals between the periodic inspection. Among other data, the Data Record Sheet defines the type of inspection and time intervals between periodic inspections. After that, the owner/user of the high risk pressure equipment engages a Notified Body for inspection and testing which performs periodic inspection of the equipment in accordance with the inspection intervals defined in the Data Record Sheet.
